Would you like to get incredible experience with chimpanzees? Gombe is the only and famous site where you will watch chimpanzees on their natural habitat.
We cannot mention Gombe without acknowledging Jane Goodall, a researcher who has spent years studying behaviors of chimpanzees in the park.
Gombe is untamed site, situated on the western boarder of Tanzania and Congo, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Though chimpanzees are the main attraction, there are other species that will increase your desire for more site exploration, some of them are: colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs, and antelopes. Guided walking, bird watching, and swimming are also possible.
Facts: chimpanzees share about 90% of genes with human beings. Most characteristics of chimpanzees resembles of human beings.
How to get there:
By flight from Dar es Salaam or Arusha to kigoma, or by slow train scheduled to Mwanza. From Kigoma to Gombe by vehicle takes 3 hours or by motor boat in the Lake Tanganyika, 1 hour or less.
Best time to visit:
February – June, and November and December (wet season). July – October (dry season).
DAY 1.
Pick up at your hotel in Dar es Salaam or Arusha early in the morning. Transfer to the airport to catch up charter flight. The flight lands in Kigoma, where we will pick you and board motor boat to Gombe. After arriving at Gombe; you will get quick lunch and game drive will begins. Then dinner and overnight at the camp. Our partner accommodations are Gombe forest Lodge and Gombe Bandas.
DAY 2.
After breakfast, exploring dense forest begins, you will be able to see chimpanzee and learn their behaviors. Scientists confirm that, chimpanzees share 90% genes with human being. You will get opportunities to learn more about chimps and even watch other species such as, colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs, and antelopes. Lunch in the wilderness. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
DAY 3.
After breakfast, will embark on a motor boat and head to Kigoma. Scheduled flight will take you back to Arusha or Dar as might have arranged. We will pick you at the airport and take you to the hotel.

You need to get a Tourist Visa to get in Tanzania, and you can get a visa at the Tanzanian embassy in your country, or you can be granted one at the airport on your arrival.
